I would go for “make workers rich” (option B) over “workplace democracy” (unions? option A) in which workers are not rich. But so what? I don’t see that we have that choice these days. Most people have neither option available to them. Unions are on the decline, and workers are not getting rich — in either unionized or non-unionized workplaces. So what’s the point?

Please consider those of us who use work connections to view your work – youtube is blocked in a lot of workplaces!

    Jason,

Great format and discussion. This is a minor quibble, but the two options you give are grammatically ambiguous, which is kind of a bad habit in political discussion. You say, “Option A is workplace democracy and increased regulation [by government], and Option B is [missing subject] make workers rich, increase productivity, and create an environment in which there are a lot of opportunities in which people don’t feel stuck to their jobs…” It’d be helpful if you could fill in what or who it is that “makes” “increases” and “creates.” After all, productivity has gone up considerably while wages have stagnated.
