Social Statics Reading Group

Beginning December 10th, in conjunction with the awesome Students for Liberty (old people like it too!), I’m going to be leading an online reading group on Herbert Spencer’s Social StaticsIt’s going to be a small group – only about 15 students (undergraduate and graduate), that will meet every two weeks in a online forum that supports video and voice interaction. You can find more information, including information about how to apply, here.

This is our first time running a program like this – a pilot, of sorts. If it works out, I expect SFL might end up running a number of these on an ongoing basis, with different professors leading discussions of books in their area of expertise, possible “guest appearances” by outside experts, etc. I’m excited to see how it goes.

You can get a sampling of my thoughts on Spencer here.
