I certainly favor limited government more than your typical liberal, while harboring just as much distrust of Big Business. Whatever the case, y’all continue to resist categories, we need a restoration of an anti-statist left.

So if there were a left-libertarian party, what would do you think the platform be like?

It is impossible to specify the application of the principles of liberty or to even adopt the principles of liberty without invoking tangential values. Lew Rockwell explains,“…no political philosophy exists in a cultural vacuum, and for most people political identity is only an abstraction from a broader cultural view. The two are separate only at the theoretical level; in practice, they are inextricably linked.” While Rockwell defends a rightist version of libertarianism, we embrace a leftist version. […]

…but you prefer to whine about how “evil” it is to “help the state grow larger” or some bullcrap like that, eschewing any political aid

Quit acting like “the state is sooo evil, and we must only rely on collective PRIVATE action among civilians to get our liberal values put into place.” The state in America is AMORAL- neither good nor bad. It depends on WHAT WE, THE PEOPLE, ELECT IT TO DO AND WHETHER WE HOLD IT ACCOUNTABLE. Who the elected officials THEMSELVES appoint for certain bureaucratic positions and whether those regulators get held accountable as well

Whining about “The state” as though we’re living in Communist China or Stalin’s Russia in 2014 America is nothing short of absurd and oversimplistic… and doubly damaging for liberalism.
