The libertarian legal scholar Richard Epstein will be participating in an Ask Me Anything on Reddit.com tomorrow (Wednesday, March 20, 10am-12pm ET). It’s a great chance to ask whatever questions you have of him. You do need to be a member of Reddit to participate, but signing up is pretty painless.

I’ve long been a fan of Epstein’s work, especially his Simple Rules for a Complex World, and his Principles for a Free Society: Reconciling Individual Liberty with the Common GoodAnd while less substantial, his critical review for Reason Magazine of Randy Barnett’s The Structure of Liberty: Justice and the Rule of Law had a big influence on me. I was already going through a stage where I was beginning to have serious philosophical doubts about the standard natural rights approach to libertarianism. Epstein’s piece added a healthy dose of consequentialist skepticism to my mind. Definitely take a look.

UPDATE: The AMA has begun. Here’s a link to the live thread where you can follow the conversation and ask your question.
