I’m very excited to announce that for the next week or so, John Tomasi will guest blogging for us here at Bleeding Heart Libertarians.

John is Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at Brown University, where he is the founding director of The Political Theory Project.  His first book, Liberalism Beyond Justice, is a insightful and beautifully written book that left a deep impression on me when I first read it in graduate school.  I return to it often, and am always rewarded with new ideas and new questions.

John’s new book, Free Market Fairness, will be published by Princeton University Press in January 2012.  I had a chance to read an advance copy in January, and it is terrific.  I have been following John’s thinking on issues related to the moral justification of capitalism for years, and his attempt to ground a thick conception of economic liberty with a high liberal commitment to social justice was a major influence on my desire to start this blog.
