Symbolic Politics and Fiscal Conservatism

Here's a bit of symbolic politics from the right.  The US debt is a problem.  (So far, so good).  So how do we combat it?  Cut funding to NPR!

Meanwhile, as Art Carden notes, yesterday the US and its allies fired 110 tomahawk missiles at targets in Libya, at a price tag of approximately $569,000 each.  Take about 7 of those missiles and you've already surpassed the amount of money NPR receives directly from the federal government each year.

Ron Paul notes the hypocrisy.

The bottom line:  if you claim to be a fiscal conservative and you aren't anti-war, then you're not really fiscally conservative.
