Events in San Diego

If you’re in or near San Diego, you might consider checking out the Center for Ethics, Economics, and Public Policy at the University of San Diego. I started the center a few years ago, and we regularly put on events that might be of interest to readers of this blog.

This coming Spring semester, we’ll be hosting a conversation with GiveDirectly’s Paul Neihaus on cash transfers and his work on establishing a trial version of a universal basic income in rural Kenya (Wednesday, February 13). We’ll also be hosting a debate on democratic socialism featuring Mike Munger and Vivek Chibber (Tuesday, March 12th).

We try to hold at least one big debate each semester, along with a few other smaller events. You can keep informed by following us on Facebook, or signing up for our email list.

You can also watch videos of past events on our YouTube channel, including this debate on gun control with Mike Huemer and Michael Shermer, this debate on immigration with Bryan Caplan and Christopher Wellman, and this debate on the minimum wage with Don Boudreaux and Mike Konczal.
